Features:

  • Handles electron energies of up to 15 keV
  • Ultra high energy resolution in UPS (< 1meV), XPS (< 7 meV) and HAXPES (<15 meV)
  • Angular Mapping (ΔΘ < 0.1°)
  • CCD, DLD and DLD/SPIN detection available
  • Low dark-count detector units
  • High stability power supplies
  • High retarding ratios
  • Different modes of operation (UPS, XPS and HXPS)

Applications:

  • Investigation of the bulk properties of solids with HAXPES
  • Gamma-Spectroscopy
  • UPS with high angular resolution and high energy resolution

Product description:

With the PHOIBOS 225 analyzer SPECS sets a new standard. Innovative approaches and technical solutions lead to an instrument that combines excellent performance with highest reliability for the largest possible variety of experimental conditions.
Two versions
The analyzer exists in two versions: PHOIBOS 225 HV for high energy XPS and PHOIBOS 225 HiRes for ultra high resolution in Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (UPS).

PHOIBOS 225 HV
In the high energy version it can handle energies up to 15 keV. Due to the low photoionization cross sections at higher excitation energies it is equipped with low dark-count detector units and special high stability power supplies. In this version the analyzer works at high retarding ratios to provide a high resolving power within the hard X-ray energy range. This version includes the ultra high resolution performance in UPS.

PHOIBOS 225 HiRes
In this version the PHOIBOS 225 shows ultimate performance in Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (UPS) measurements. The energy resolution in UPS is < 1 meV, in XPS < 7 meV. Following a modular design concept 2D CCD, 3D DLD, Spin Detectors and combinations thereof are available. The power supply of the PHOIBOS 225 HiRes is designed for voltages of up to 3500 V.
