The Ultra Nano Hardness Tester is the highest accurate Nano Hardness Tester on the market.
The nanoindentation technique is part of a recent range of instruments
known as Depth-Sensing Indentation (DSI), the penetration depth being
continuously monitored as a function of load during the indentation
test. This technique has been largely used to evaluate mechanical
properties of materials at the nanometre scale, especially hardness and
elastic modulus. Given the range of depths (nm) and forces (µN)
involved, the accuracy of the measured penetration depth and force is
therefore essential for this method, and the incertitude of the
corresponding depth and force measurements has a direct influence on
the accuracy of results. This paper introduces a new high resolution
nanoindentation apparatus with an ultra low thermal drift.
